Accessibility statement

This is an accessibility statement for the Digital Services Factory’s ‘Design System’ website.

Conformance status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA. The service is fully conformant with WCAG 2.1 level AA.

Compatibility with browsers and assistive technology

The service is not compatible with:

  • Internet Explorer 9 and older
  • Safari browser on Windows computers

Limitations and alternatives

Despite our best efforts to ensure accessibility of the service, there may be some limitations. Below is a description of known limitations, and potential solutions. Please contact us if you observe an issue not listed below.

The website uses algolia autocomplete third party component which creates the search textbox for the design system. The generated search box does not contain a form label.

The website uses empty links after each header in order to generate the table of contents (TOC) for each page.

The website includes code segments which are syntaxt highlighted with different text colors, depending on the language of the code shown. Some of these colours might have low contrast between text and background colour.

Javascript is required for the service to function properly.
